Racer Check-In
The primary racer check-in time is Friday, July 10th, from 6-8
p.m. at the registration tent at Sand Point.

Emergency racer check-in is available on Saturday, July 11th,
from 7-8 a.m.

Directions
M-28 runs east and west through Munising. It intersects H-58 at the only
blinking yellow light. Take H-58 east for 1.21 miles, then turn onto
Washington Street, which turns into Sand Point Road after a few blocks.
Follow Sand Point Road to its dead end at Sand Point (2.38 miles).

Pre-Race Logistics
Parking: Available at Sand Point Beach with overflow parking at the Park Service
Headquarters just beyond the beach at the dead end of Sand Point.

Pre-Race Meeting: A mandatory competitors meeting will be held at 8:00 a.m.
next to the registration tent at Sand Point Beach. Racers must have checked in
either Friday evening or Saturday morning prior to this meeting.

On-Shore Start and Finish Area: Before and after the race, racers can leave their
kayaks on the beach while they wait for the race to start or while parking their
vehicles. Paddlers should be in their kayak in the water 10 minutes before the start.

On-Water Start Line: The start and finish line will be between two buoys. They
will be set wide enough to accommodate several kayakers. The mass start
nature of this event can cause turbulence and can cause kayak collisions.
Racers should line up with their experience and kayak handling skills in mind.
(i.e., experienced paddlers in front of less experienced).

Awards
A volunteer will greet you on the beach at Sand Point to present your
completion and/or placing awards; if you are not greeted please
proceed to the registration tent and pick up your award(s).
